God surely does get angry! Many times in history scriptures relate instances where He has poured out wrath on mankind. He sent the flood, He killed many who sinned against Him also.

He never changes! He has a perfect, well-rounded character--it includes his lovingkindness and as well as anger! He gets angry but guess what? He never sins! His anger is holy and righteous and His judgments are good--all the time!

We don't see Him judging people in this post-cross, Church age because He is restraining His anger and choosing to show His great mercy for the sake of His Son Jesus' who is busy building His Church. There is one way, however, that God reveals His anger against unrighteous people today, and that is to abandon them to their wickedness!

Romans 1:18-28
18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.

28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.

We only have the historical accounts in scripture to go by to really see the marked devastation of God's anger, yet we are fortunate enough to be chosen by God to live this side of the cross, and know as His kids, that we have been wooed by the Holy Spirit into the knowledge of Christ.

One day, we will witness His supreme wrath being poured out on all evildoers, and we will rejoice that we know Him and are spared such fury.

Well said Newness. God was so angry at man because;

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." (Gen. 6:5),

God said he was sorry He had made man and it repented Him and grieved Him to His heart;

"And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart." (Gen. 6:6).

It was then that God decided to destroy man from off the face of the earth;

"And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them." (Gen. 6:7).

Fortunately for us there was one who was right with God. "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD." (Gen.6:8). The rest is history.

Haz.
